Oxford Down Sheep

Mudchute is so proud to be London's only Rare Breeds Survival Trust Survival Trust's (RBST) Approved Conservation Farm - we care for several of these special breeds at the farm. One of our jobs is to loan out a few of our boys to other farms for breeding, to keep the breed healthy and growing.

This autumn one of our Oxford Down Sheep stepped up to do his duty - a breed that's on the RBST's at risk watchlist.

Oxford Downs are a big and strong breed, recognisable thanks to their wooly top knot on their head.
