INTRODUCTION TO CHICKEN KEEPING

Introduction to Chicken Keeping

Interested in keeping chickens in your own back garden? Come find out more about what it takes to keep your own chickens. In this introductory session we will cover the basics of chicken keeping including important considerations for prospective owners as well as lots of practical experience with our own flock.

The course will begin at 10am and run to approximately 3pm, including a break for lunch (you are welcome to bring your own pack lunch or purchase lunch from our onsite café). As the course combines talks and practical, hands-on experience, we advise that you wear weather-appropriate work clothes and bring a pen and notebook.

Although the course is designed for adults, mature children with a genuine interest in poultry are also welcome.

Course fees are £50 per person. For further information and to book your place, please email us at farm@mudchute.org.

An online version of the course is also available here.
