Take a break or meet friends at Mudchute Kitchen

Set in the courtyard, overlooking the horses and within earshot of the cattle, Mudchute Kitchen is the perfect place to get a taste of the countryside without leaving the city.

About Mudchute Kitchen

In late May 2007 Mudchute Kitchen was opened by Philippa Davis and friend Louise Johnston with a clear view to serving fresh, seasonal home-cooked food for local families, visitors and groups. Having trained at the River Café, Moro, Lidgate the butcher and the Rivington Bar and Grill, the chefs clearly understand the importance of using wonderful ingredients and the beauty of cooking from scratch.

For more information please look at our website.

Food and drink

Mudchute Kitchen is open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea Tuesday–Sunday 9am–3pm.

Our food is all home-made from our delicious bread to our lovely baked beans. We use mostly British produce and all our meat and eggs are free range. Due to the fertile nature of the local soils there is lots of wild produce to forage including crab apples, blackberries, wild thyme and nettles as well as having our own Mudchute Kitchen allotment.

We have an outside charcoal pit, a smoke house and we are building a wood oven.

The Community

We love working with community groups whether its training to work in the restaurant business, helping to encourage a greener, more ethical approach to food or providing delicious affordable meals. Feel welcome to come and talk to us for more ideas and information.

Private parties and functions

Mudchute Kitchen is also available for private hire. We can cater for an intimate dinner for two to a gathering of 150 people! All menus will be individually created for your event. Although we do not take daily lunchtime bookings we will be happy to discuss set menus for large visiting groups.

Opening times

Tuesday–Sunday 9am–5pm (we are also available for private hire outside these times).
